The cold and fog are beginning.

Don't give up. Don't give up on goodwills... I'm telling you people. Seriously sometimes you hit the jackpot, and yes I know, other times you don't, but I have recently had such great success and it makes all those other times worth trying.  I found a cute black leather jacket... which I have been wanting for a long time now (granted, its not exactly what I was looking for, compared to all the new ones I have been looking at, but still super cute!), and another great down black jacket find that will be truly warm when the colder weather sets in even more.  And my roommate just found some amazing shoes/ bootie heals made in Brazil, at goodwill too! And for $3!!  Oh, did I mention my leather jacket was 2.99?! Its so fun and always a treasure hunt. You never know what you will find.  Let me be clear... I am not gloating here about my success... trust me... there are several time I don't find a thing. I want to encourage the  goodwill shopper to keep on trying.  Find your lux inspiration and then replicate on waaaayyyyy less :) You may have to wait a little longer to get the pieces you want, but good(will) things will come to those who wait.
Ciao!
ps- I know... I'm totally corny.

  1. I love this post. I love thriftiness so much for all the reasons you mentioned. You have to look at EVERYTHING in the store though, and you'll mostly likely find at least one, maybe two things for nothing, that will be your favorite! :) Oh my goodness, I want to go thrifting now. hah

  2. Agreed Emily...
I love a good thrift. Except my little town I just moved to doesn't have a thrift store. It should. I am guessing if it did, i would have a hay day in all their expensive buys.
